Quotes
Alana Gunn (Canterbury coach): “We’re expecting a very much improved Central, they’ve had some really close results of late against some of the top-of-the-table teams so we’re definitely not going up there and taking anything for granted. We’re expecting a really solid, organised defensive block and then quite attacking on the counter so that’s what we’ve been looking at this week in preparation.”
Barry Scullion (Central coach): “It’s another tough fixture for us this weekend, the Pride are a top quality team and have looked really strong this year. For us, there’s been improvements each week compared to the start of the season where we lost heavily. Our last three games have been close and we’ve only lost by one goal. We’ve been in with a chance of gaining a point so it’s just about keeping that going and adding a little bit more quality in the final third. If we can get a few goals we’re confident we’ll pick up a few points before the campaign is finished.”

Talisha Green, 12. Liz Savage, 14. Lily Jervis, 15. Emily Oosterhof, 16. Catherine Pretty, 17. Mackenzie Barry, 18. Emily Couchman (GK)
Quotes
Natalie Lawrence (Capital coach): “If we look back to our first game against Northern, we had a really good second half and that really helped kick start our season. We’ve had a really good week of training and we’ve kept standards high because, while we’re still mathematically in that race for the top two spots, we’re always going to be striving for that. So the importance of three points this weekend is huge and we all believe we can do that.”
Shane Verma (Northern coach): “Claudia (Bunge) has had a big impact on the Lights so to see her get this opportunity with the Ferns is massive and it just comes down to all the hard work she’s put in. We’ve got a strong group of players so to be able to call on the likes of Emily (Couchman) and Ash (Cox) to jump in goal means we shouldn’t hopefully miss Lily (Alfeld) too much. Then we’ve also got some good girls to cover at the back so, all in all, I expect the girls to stand up this weekend.”
