G&W MONTH
Girls and Women’s Month is an initiative running alongside our federations through the month of March. Designed to introduce girls and women to the beautiful game across Aotearoa New Zealand. With the recent impact of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, now is the time to keep that momentum going.
Girls & Women’s month was established to shine the spotlight on girls and women in football and grow female participation at the grassroots level. Girls & Women’s month provides football stakeholders with a platform to spark discussions around gender equality and to amplify new and existing female specific programs and events to ensure we remove the barriers to entry for women and girls. Initiatives designed to ensure they increase and retain female players, administrators, coaches, referees and fans.

FEMALE PROGRAMMES
MILO FANTAILS
If you've got young girls looking to give football or futsal a go in a fun and safe environment, MILO Fantails is the programme for you!
MILO Fantails is a programme designed to attract new female players aged 4–12 years old to the beautiful game through sessions focused on helping girls make friends, having fun, improving their skills and being active through football.
Sessions will take place throughout the remainder of the year, and are now rolling out all across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Find a MILO Fantails hub near you by clicking the button below.
KICKIN' IT
The aim of Kickin' It is to provide more social participation opportunities for young females aged 13-19 years old. Kickin' It hubs provide young females a fun and safe environment to experience football or futsal with their friends and peers, in a smaller format (5v5, 7v7).
Aligned to Sport NZ’s 'It’s My Move' campaign, and the recommendations from the NZF Secondary School Aged Football Report, we want to lead and grow the movement towards more positive and inclusive experiences for young women in our communities. Young women want to be active and know physical activity is good for them.
