Fixtures announced for biggest ever Ford Futsal SuperLeague season

The fixtures for the new look Ford Futsal SuperLeague have been announced, kicking off on 9 February, with the three-month long competition set to be bigger than ever before.

For the first time, the women’s Ford Futsal SuperLeague has been expanded to mirror the men’s edition, with both competitions now featuring eight teams.

The increase in teams sees the Ford Futsal SuperLeague grow to 120 matches for the 2025 season, the most in the history of Aotearoa New Zealand’s top-tier domestic futsal competition.

The expansion sees new side Hawke’s Bay Futsal join the women’s competition, while WaiBOP Power has split into two separate teams, Waikato Rapids and Bay of Plenty Surge, mirroring the men’s teams from the Waikato region and reflecting the growth in the women’s game.

The 2025 men’s Ford Futsal SuperLeague will consist of: Auckland City FC, Bay of Plenty Surge, Capital Futsal, Canterbury United Futsal Dragons, Hawke’s Bay Futsal, Palmerston North Marist, Southern United, and reigning champions Waikato Rapids.

The 2025 women’s Ford Futsal Superleague will consist of: Bay of Plenty Surge, reigning champions Capital Futsal, Canterbury United Futsal Pride, Hawke’s Bay Futsal, Palmerston North Marist, Papakura City, Southern United, and Waikato Rapids.

The expansion comes at an exciting time for futsal in New Zealand after the Futsal Whites represented Aotearoa for the first time at the FIFA Futsal World Cup in 2024, an achievement that will be repeated in 2025 with the Futsal Ferns talking part in the first ever FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup.

The new season will see games played across the country with fixtures in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Kirikiriroa Hamilton, Te Papa-i-Oea Palmerston North, Ōtepoti Dunedin, Ōtautahi Christchurch, Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, and Ahuriri Napier.
