New Zealand Football have been awarded the best Major Event or Mega Event Award for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 at the 2024 NZEA New Zealand Event Awards held this week. 

The tournament won three awards in total at the event, also seeing Wellington Regional Stadium win Best Venue for its role during the tournament, as well as SPUR winning Best Supplier at the awards held at Fly Palmy Arena, Palmerston North. 

The FIFA Women’s World Cup was a huge success in Aoteaora New Zealand with over 700,000 tickets sold to the tournament and 2.1 million Kiwis tuning in to watch.
