Today, the draw for the quarter-finals of the Chatham Cup and the semi-finals of the Kate Sheppard Cup took place in North Harbour Stadium, with Max Mata as a special guest.
The new Auckland FC player, who recently won the OFC Nations Cup with the All Whites, participated in the draw before training with his new team. The forward expressed his pride in joining the new professional team, especially as he is from Auckland.
The first draw conducted was for the Chatham Cup. Mata was responsible for picking the balls for each team, resulting in the following matchups:
Hibiscus Coast AFC vs. Coastal Spirit FC
Wellington Olympic AFC vs. Manurewa AFC
Napier City Rovers FC vs. Birkenhead United AFC
Otago University AFC vs. Auckland City FC
The quarter-final matches will be played on the weekend of July 27, with exact days and times to be confirmed.
After the Chatham Cup matchups were revealed, the forward conducted the draw for the semi-finals of the Kate Sheppard Cup, which resulted in the following matchups:
Dunedin City Royals FC vs. Western Springs AFC
Wellington Phoenix Reserves vs. Auckland United FC
The Kate Sheppard Cup and Chatham Cup semifinals will be played on the weekend of August 17 with exact days and times to be confirmed by the clubs too.
