Last week Southern United showed they can score incredible goals, but Wellington United have one of the best defensive records in the league this season with only three goals conceded. Can they stop Southern’s attacking brilliance ? Wellington United currently sit second while Southern are fourth with just a point between them, so a win for either team will see a big shift in the table.

Margarida Dias
Dias pulled out a huge performance last week to help her team to a close win over Western Springs. Her two goals helped seal the match, and she was a constant threat on the dribble. She will be looking to get into those dangerous positions once again this weekend.

Wellington Olympic vs Eastern Suburbs

Eastern Suburbs have not had the start to the Championship phase they would have wanted, playing out close games against tough opponents in the opening rounds. Meanwhile Wellington Olympic had their high-flying start cut short with draw last weekend against Cashmere Technical. Both Olympic and Suburbs will be looking to get back to winning ways, Suburbs to make a push into the top half of the table and Olympic so they can continue to challenge for the top spot.
Player to watch:
Luis Toomey
Toomey came off the bench to provided much needed energy and decisiveness in the second half of Eastern Suburbs’ recent clash with Petone, showing himself to be a constant problem one on one with defenders as well as producing some dangerous shots on goal. He will no doubt be keen to show more of what he can do against the Central League champions.

Eastern Suburbs vs CF Waterside Karori

Eastern Suburbs have three wins from three, meanwhile Karori have had a win, a loss and a draw so far. As the midpoint of the season grows near Karori will want to take all three points to stay within striking distance of the top two. Meanwhile Suburbs will be hoping they can keep their unbeaten run going, doing so will take their points into double figures. Can Eastern Suburbs continue to stack up the wins or will the Central League champions get back to winning ways ?

Charlotte Lancaster
Former Phoenix player Lancaster scored twice against Phoenix Reserves last week from the left side. Her forward runs and ability to shoot from any range on the left flank will be something for Karori to watch out for come the weekend.

Auckland City FC vs Cashmere Technical

In this clash of Northern League champions and Southern League runners-up, Auckland City will be trying to maintain their perfect streak with another win. Cashmere Technical will be looking to build on last week’s performance against Wellington Olympic, where they drew 3-3 but missed some crucial late chances. Can they go one better in this weekend's fixture? Or will City continue their unbeaten run and remain at the top of the table?

Garbhan Coughlan
Coughlan is the Southern League’s MVP, racking up 28 goals in the League this season. Well-known in the National League, he put in an excellent performance against Olympic with an assist and coming very close to scoring himself, hitting the post towards the end of the game. Coughlan is in hot form and will be keen to crash Auckland City’s party.
