Ford Football Ferns set for record crowds tomorrow

Attendance records in women’s football are falling the world over, and Aotearoa New Zealand is no different, with the Ford Football Ferns set for a record crowd tomorrow in Te Whanganui-A-Tara / Wellington when they take on the world champions the USA.

Over 10,000 people are expected to turn up to Sky Stadium for the first of the Ferns’ two-game series against the USA tomorrow.

After the team played at home for the first time in over four years in November, breaking the 10,000 crowd mark is a milestone that head coach Jitka Klimková is excited to see achieved.

“It has been our goal since coming back home, starting in Christchurch, to actually make the crowds bigger every time we play on home soil,” she says.

“We want to thank everybody who already bought tickets for tomorrow's game. And we hope we will have the number as big as possible because playing home in front of our home fans is very special and very unique,

“If this number is going to be over 10,000 people, we will be very proud and we will be very inspired to play and fight and represent New Zealand,” she says.

Tickets start at $5. Get your tickets now here and be a part of history as we kick off the biggest year of football Aotearoa has ever seen.
