New Zealand Football today celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Chatham Cup being gifted to the organisation by the Navy at the Navy Museum in Devonport, Auckland.

The cup was brought to Aotearoa on the HMS Chatham and gifted to New Zealand Football on 14 December 1922. The cup has gone on to be the most sought-after trophy in men’s club football and next year will celebrate its centenary after the first competition was run in 1923.
