CPD PROGRAMME
About the Continual Professional Development Programme
The Continual Professional Development (CPD) Programme applies to all coaches with an Advanced Coaching qualification and all qualified coach developers.
While coaches and coach developers are qualified for life, the ‘active’ status of qualifications are valid for a three-year period. To extend the ‘active’ status of qualifications for a further three years, coaches must earn 100 CPD points within that time frame.
Why do we have the CPD Programme?
New Zealand Football’s (NZF) aim is to foster an enthusiasm for life-long learning for coaches and coach developers in Aotearoa.
It is vital that coaches and coach developers within our advanced coaching pathway are continuously developing and have up-to-date information on player and coach development. A reaccreditation process is also a requirement of the OFC Coaching Convention.
Background
Advanced coaching and all coach developer qualifications are active for 3 years from the completion of the course. In order for this qualification to stay active 100 CPD points must be earned within this 3 year period.
Historically, these points could only be earned through in-person coach development events. NZF are increasing the number of ways CPD points can be earned by recognising online learning and coaches who are actively coaching at a certain level of the game in NZ.
Earning CPD Points
The below tables outline the different types of ongoing learning and the CPD points that are available for each.
Please note: these may not solely be football-based events, they may include other development opportunities which are available in your regions.
