A pair of familiar faces will take the reins of Hawke’s Bay United in next season’s ISPS Handa Premiership after the appointment of Chris Greatholder and Bill Robertson as co-coaches.
Both are well-known names in the region’s football community with Greatholder having previously coached the franchise while Robertson is a former player and captain.
Locally, Greatholder is currently player/coach of Havelock North Wanderers while Robertson holds the same role with Napier City Rovers.
“One of the things we really focused on was the cultural aspect of the philosophy they bring,” deputy chairman Andrew Huxford says.
“And their commitment to the region was outstanding in what they wanted to achieve as a regional entity.”
The pair will jointly take on the position after the reign of Brett Angell, who declined the opportunity to reapply after five seasons at the helm.
