School champions found all over country


Sacred Heart College celebrate winning the Boys Lotto Premier Tournament

National secondary school champions have been found in a range of competitions after the winter football tournament week was staged all over the country.

Over 5,000 players took part in nearly 320 teams, who competed for the right to be crowned national champions in 15 tournaments (seven for girls and eight for boys), all of which were run by New Zealand Secondary Schools Football.

The Boys Premier Tournament in Christchurch was won by Sacred Heart College while fellow Auckland school Baradene College of the Sacred Heart claimed the honours in the Girls Premier Tournament in Taupo.
