International football is coming to TVNZ with four All Whites fixtures and two potential Ford Football Ferns games set to be broadcast free to air.
Following the success of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which saw more Kiwis watch the game than ever before, the partnership between New Zealand Football and TVNZ will make it easier than ever to follow our national sides in their remaining games of 2023.
Games will be shown on TVNZ DUKE and TVNZ+, starting this Saturday morning when the All Whites take on DR Congo in Murcia, Spain, kicking off at 5am NZT.
The following Wednesday morning at 7:45am NZT will see the All Whites face Australia for the recently rediscovered Soccer Ashes trophy in London, England.
As well as games being on TVNZ, they will also be available for free on FIFA+ in Aotearoa New Zealand and a number of international territories, along with all National League Championship games, as part of the previously announced long-term partnership.
James Wear, GM Brand and Partnerships at New Zealand Football said:
“New Zealand Football’s partnership with FIFA+ was a landmark agreement as it allowed us to take control of the rights to our international games and prioritise getting football to more Kiwis than ever before.
“It also allows us to partner with TVNZ and continue the brilliant momentum from the FIFA Women’s World Cup by having football on free to air TV.
“Football is in a really exciting place and we want as many Kiwis as possible to get to enjoy the game, starting this weekend.”
