Fixtures announced and squad named for two men’s U-17 international friendlies this August

The men’s U-17 team will continue their preparation for the November’s FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 with two international friendlies against New Caledonia in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland this August. 

The games will be played at Fred Taylor Park in Auckland Tuesday 8 and Thursday 10 August 2023, both kicking off at 3pm. 

Both games will be open to the public and free to watch. 

Men’s U-17 head coach Martin Bullock has named a 22-person squad for the games, only selecting from players based in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand for these fixtures.

“This is a great opportunity to play a competitive international fixture and test ourselves in that environment before the FIFA U-17 World Cup in November” says Martin Bullock. 

“At this age players are developing all the time, so it is important to get as much high-quality game time together as possible to give everyone the best opportunity to show themselves before we select our final squad.”

The FIFA U-17 World Cup starts on 10 November 2023 in Indonesia.
