Former Football Fern Nora Watkins passes away

New Zealand Football are sad to hear of the passing of former Football Fern and national team coach Nora Watkins (nee Hetherington)

A member of the team for the first ever Football Ferns game in 1975, Watkins made 10 appearances in total between 1975 – 1980, scoring two goals. 

Born in Wellington in 1957, she went on to be assistant coach for the national side from 1989 – 1994, and head coach in 1995, as well as making a major contribution to football in the Wellington region with Upper Hutt United, Miramar Rangers and Petone.
