New Zealand Football can confirm that Wairarapa United have withdrawn from the Central League, and are pleased to announce that Wellington United have accepted the tenth place in the league. Wellington United was the next highest qualifier as runners up in the Central League play-off in October, and achieved its National Club Licence at the end of 2021.
This signals a first return to the Central League for Wellington United since 2019. New Zealand Football will be working closely with the club to ensure it is prepared for the start of the season.
Updates to the Central League fixtures will be confirmed shortly.
