Te Wiki o te Reo Māori Competition

This week is Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, Māori Language Week. It's an opportunity for people across Aotearoa celebrate, learn, practice and raise awareness of te reo Māori.

This year, in addition to sharing content on our social channels during the week, we wanted to celebrate by bringing te reo to an iconic New Zealand football moment.

With our friends at Māori Football Aotearoa we are running a competition for fans to record their own commentary using te reo over Rory Fallon's historic goal to take New Zealand to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

If you are a fluent speaker, or still learning, we want to hear from you. You can record the whole commentary in te reo or look to include as much as you are able to. The main thing is we want football fans to have a go.

We will then pick our favourite to win a $250 Rebel Sport voucher as well as have their entry posted across our social media channels.

To enter:

- Watch the below clip without commentary.

- Record your own commentary version on your phone.

- Email your commentary along with your name to
media@nzfootball.co.nz

We will then select the winning entry by Friday 24 September. Good luck!
