The National Women’s League finalists now know where and when they will get the opportunity to become champions after confirmation of the match details for the biggest game on the domestic women’s football calendar.

Minor premiers the Northern Lights earned the right to play the final in their own region by finishing top of the table and will take on the Canterbury United Pride at The Trusts Arena in west Auckland on Sunday 16 December from 1pm.

It will be part of a real feast of football with the ISPS Handa Premiership match between Waitakere United and Hamilton Wanderers to follow from 4.35pm at the same venue.

Both games will be screened live by SKY Sport.

Entry is free for the first hour of the National Women’s League final and will be $10 from that point on.

Three-time winners Northern are aiming for their first National Women’s League title since 2015 while Canterbury have won three of the past five finals and are looking to wrestle back the trophy they surrendered to Auckland last year.
